Alfredo Maestro, Lovamor 2023

Alfredo Maestro farms high-altitude (700-1000 m) clay-limestone vineyards in the Ribera del Duero/Castilla y León region, working organically/biodynamically and crafting additive-free wines to reflect terroir, he is undoubtedly one of our favourite natural wine producers. The “Lovamor” is drawn from 60-120-year-old Albillo vines. Minimal intervention, wild yeasts, no added sulphur or fining. Aromas of stone-fruit, white blossom and subtle straw. On the palate: vibrant orchard-fruit, a hint of apricot skin, orange zest and chalky minerality. Medium weight, fresh acidity and a lingering warm herbal finish. Unfined, unfiltered and made with natural methods at its core.
